My experience of commenting on the South Norfolk consultation

The consultation on where houses will be built in our area ends tomorrow at 5pm. If you haven’t commented yet, please do. Here are a few tips based on my experience as it can seem a bit daunting.

Once you have registered you’ll be confronted with the option to either view a map or a list of the sites proposed. I’d recommend choosing the list where you can see all the potential sites in Hethersett. Click on the magnifying glass to see what other people have said or on the pen to make your comment. You can link through to each site (which is time consuming going backwards and forwards) or you might want to choose to comment on the site north of Hethersett that Ptarmigan and Hethersett Land have already submitted planning permission for (0950a).

From the first page you can also click on the link to answer the other questions in the consultation (Site specific policies and allocations + Long Stratton and Wymondham AAPs). The main ones that affect Hethersett are, in my opinion:

  • Development Boundaries
  • Strategic Gaps and Important Breaks (between Wymondham and Hethersett and Hethersett and Cringleford)
  • Central business and primary shopping areas

If you want to have your say quickly – go straight to the Anything Else? question at the bottom of the page – people seem to be using this to make any relevant points. If you don’t have time to make comments on specific sections (it’s a bit time consuming) at least have your say here.

Good luck.
